Welcome Party

A great way to start the weekend! This is a chance to catch up with old friends and meet your hosts and teachers for the weekend. Due to popular demand our dance cards will be back to get you mixing and mingling with others from different parts of the country. There will be a water cooler on site, please BYO any other drinks.
Saturday 26th
Workshops
9:00am – 1:00pm
The Riley Hall, Wellington High School 249 Taranaki Street, Wellington
Every workshop runs for an hour, and we have a full half hour between workshops. Music will be playing in the main hall during this time, and you’re welcome to use this time to rest, recharge, practice what you’ve just learned, or just enjoy dancing.
Competition
2:00pm – 6:15pm
The Riley Hall, Wellington High School 249 Taranaki Street, Wellington
A casual and fun competition open to everybody! This year the heats will be held before the dinner break, and the finals will be held following the dinner break – leaving the majority of the evening free for performances and social freestyle. Entry to the Saturday evening dance party and performances is included in the competition entry fee and the spectator entry fee.
Dance Party
7:15pm – late

This year most of the competition finals will be earlier in the day, leaving the evening session free for performances and social freestyle.
The evening session will include:
- Jive Masters & Performances;
- Lots of social freestyle; and
- The competition awards
Sunday 27th

Villains Ball

Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa 55 Cable Street, Wellington
The highlight of the weekend and our Wellington dance calendar is the Ball, a massive party at Te Papa in Central Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington. The theme for the Simply ball in 2024 is Villains!
Monday 28th
Farewell Brunch
10:30am – 1:00pm
Southern Cross Garden Bar and Restaurant 39 Abel Smith Street, Wellington
After a busy weekend, before everybody hops on their flight home, we like to have one more opportunity to hang out and say our farewells. The Southern Cross is a wonderful place to unwind at the end of the weekend, and they cater for a wide variety of dietary requirements.
